There are several types of varicose veins, classified according to their severity. The most common types are telangiectasias, also known as spider veins or reticular veins. Then there are truncal varicose veins, which appear as thick, trunk-like veins. Beyond their visual appearance, it is important for a specialist doctor to perform an evaluation with a venous Doppler ultrasound to rule out venous insufficiency and recommend the appropriate treatment for each specific case.

This is a condition in which the vein valves stop functioning properly, preventing blood from returning to the heart and causing blood to accumulate in the lower limbs, which leads to discomfort, swelling, and the appearance of increasingly severe varicose veins.

Treatment options include the use of compression measures, exercise, and minimally invasive procedures such as CLaCS and Endovenous Ablation with Laser or Radiofrequency.
