Avoid pigmentation with a specialist varicose vein doctor

On this occasion, we present the case of a patient who shows pigmentation in both legs and also spider veins on the dorsum of the foot. Upon arrival, the patient reported having received several sessions of sclerotherapy at other medical centers, as she had varicose cords.

The consequence of the treatment she received from other doctors who were not specialized in varicose veins was that the trunk veins appeared to disappear, but internally the problem continued to progress, leading to skin damage and, consequently, pigmentation caused by venous insufficiency.

For this reason, it is very important to always consult a varicose vein specialist, who is a Cardiovascular Surgeon.

What varicose vein treatment do we apply in cases like this?

In cases like the one shown in the video, the first step is to perform an evaluation using venous Doppler ultrasound technology. With a thorough assessment of the entire pathway of the internal veins, it was possible to determine the location of the venous disease (venous insufficiency), and endovascular laser ablation was indicated as the treatment of choice.

This procedure is minimally invasive, requires no incisions, is not painful, and patients are able to walk immediately after the intervention.
